Pennsylvania State Health Department is sponsoring a webinar on Oct. 26 from 12-1 on the prevalence of lead poisoning, particularly why certain children are at a higher risk. Register here:  http://cirrus.mail-list.com/leadnet/35702165.htm
 
October 28, at 2 p.m., EPA will participate with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Centers for Disease Control in a Twitter Townhall to chat about issues related to lead poisoning prevention. Join the conversation @EPALive, @CDCEnvironment, @HUDLeadHealthy #LeadChat2015
 
Louisiana:
 
Throughout this week, lead testing will be provided at the 10 Region 1 WIC clinics and physicians throughout the state will receive lead awareness packets. LHHCLPP will also raise awareness about lead and its effects on human health by participating in health fairs, presentations, advisory board  meetings and other events at area WIC clinics, local Head Start programs, churches, universities, state agencies and community-based organizations. There will also be an awareness walk event around the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
 
Furthermore, LHHCLPPP is partnering with Text4baby to raise awareness of mandatory lead screening laws to all Text4baby enrollees with children 0-12  months of age.

Missouri:
 
On October 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, in coordination with the Kansas City, Mo., Health Department, EPA representatives will provide Spanish-language educational brochures and answer questions about lead poisoning during a free blood lead screening event at the Mexican Consulate at 1617 Baltimore Ave., in Kansas City, Mo.
 
On October 27, at 11:30 a.m., EPA Region 7 will deliver a presentation to the Cape Girardeau, Mo., County Board of Realtors about the Lead-Based Paint Section 1018 Disclosure Rule, and the Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Rule. The presentation will be held at Ray’s Plaza Banquet Center, 3257 William Street, in Cape Girardeau.
 
New York
 
The Rockland County Health Department will be passing out information on lead safe renovation practices at:
 
Home Depot in Nanuet from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday and Thursday. 
Home Depot in West Nyack from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and  from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
